In 2016, already retired, he returned to the craft at the invitation of the Loulé Criativo project, coordinating training and keeping the tradition alive at the Boilermakers Workshop. He is today the only master craftsman in activity to work copper and brass according to ancestral methods, creating emblematic pieces by hand such as cataplanas, wire pots and chocolatiers.
