Born in Vila Nova de Gaia, he studied in Coimbra and was an apprentice to Master Fernando Meireles. In 2001 he built the largest Portuguese guitar in the world, in Porto. Today he leads the Chordophone Workshop in Loulé, where he keeps tradition alive, always with an eye on the future and innovation.
