Isabel Sousa Carvalho (Faro, 1966) began her career in ceramics in 1999, after training in Industrial Production Engineering. He developed his artistic training at AR.CO and at the António Arroio Artistic Secondary School, complemented by several specialized workshops in Portugal and abroad, with emphasis on raku techniques, porcelain and alternative firing.
Her practice is based on experimentation and the exploration of different languages and materials. Parallel to his work in ceramics, he has been developing an interest in paper pulp, an area that he has recently deepened and in which he is also starting to promote workshops. Since 2021, she has been dedicated to teaching manual techniques for ceramic construction, within the scope of Loulé Criativo and other institutions in the Algarve.
