Copper Shop

Description

The “Copper Shop” is placed in the Rua da Barbacã, a shop available by the council so that the artisans work together, create and sell their products, fulfilling a series of requests to assure the authenticity that bring value to the knowledge and authenticity of the pieces.

The sound of the three coppersmith hammer in the copper and brass was brought back when the “Copper Shop” was opened, where once the “Caldeiraria Louletana” was. In this shop, pieces such as pan, cataplana, bracelets, chandeliers, cups and others, are handmade.

Nuno Palma
Born in Faro in 1979, Nuno Palma grew up surrounded by the brightness of copper and the aroma of arbutus distilled in his father's stills. The fascination with this metal accompanied him from an early age and led him, years later, to learn the art of traditional boilermaking. After experiences in areas as diverse as computer science and physiotherapy, he found in copper the link between his origins, family memory and the pleasure of creating with his hands. Today, as an artisan at Loulé Criativo, he continues this ancestral knowledge, shaping copper with respect for the past and enthusiasm for the future.
