Creative Residency Program

Applications are now open for creative, research, craft, and design projects inspired by the Loulé region

Loulé Criativo is launching an open call for its Creative Residency Program, an initiative that invites artisans, designers, artists, researchers, and creators to develop projects that bridge traditional knowledge and contemporary creation.

As part of the Loulé Criativo strategy and in the spirit of the UNESCO Algarvensis Global Geopark, these residencies aim to establish Loulé as a hub for experimentation, innovation, and the promotion of cultural heritage, fostering connections between artists and the local community.

The program is designed for projects that explore the municipality’s cultural identity, encouraging collaboration with local artisans and creators, experimentation with raw materials and traditional techniques, and the development of new products, artistic projects, research initiatives, or prototypes with cultural, social, and economic impact.

Serão especialmente valorizadas propostas nas áreas do artesanato, design e investigação em cultura e criatividade que incidam sobre matérias e técnicas tradicionais do território, como as fibras vegetais endógenas, o barro, o cobre, os têxteis e outros saberes-fazer locais.

Mais do que um espaço de trabalho, as Residências Criativas do Loulé Criativo pretendem ser um laboratório vivo de criação e experimentação, onde tradição, inovação, património e futuro se encontram para gerar novas ideias, produtos e narrativas para o território.
