Susana Mendez is a textile artist and the creator of Susana Méndez – Textile Studio, in Loulé, where she finds her greatest inspiration in nature and the Algarve’s landscapes. With a degree in Arts and Graphic Design, she cultivated a passion for illustration and crafts from an early age, exploring threads, fabrics, embroidery and painting.
The discovery of hand-weaving and tapestry marked a turning point in his career, as he realised that he could translate illustrations into threads, colours and textures. Since then he has developed decoration projects, both individually and in partnership with other artisans, always with a creative and experimental look.
Currently, in addition to the creation of original pieces, she is also dedicated to training, where she shares her experience and passion for manual work, contributing to the appreciation and renewal of the textile arts.
