“Ajudada”: Olive Harvest

Inspired by the ancient tradition of the ajudadas, in which mutual help and conviviality united the community in the work of the field, this initiative proposes a practical day dedicated to harvesting olives for olive oil and learning the traditional techniques of crushing, shredding and preserving olives.

Recovering the tradition of the ajudadas, moments when family and friends gathered to, in a spirit of mutual help and cooperation, support the owner in a certain agricultural activity, we propose a day dedicated to the harvesting of olives for olive oil production and the discovery of traditional olive treatment techniques, such as crushing, shredding and preserving. An experience of sharing and contact with the knowledge and practices linked to olive cultivation and the rural identity of the territory.
