José João Guerreiro

José João Guerreiro

Born in Vila Real de Santo António and a watchmaker for over 50 years, José João Guerreiro keeps alive a profession on the verge of extinction. He learned the trade from his father and today works in Loulé, as part of the Loulé Criativo project. In his workshop, he repairs watches from prestigious international brands, always with the same dedication to quality and durability that marked his entire career.

With more than 50 years of experience, José João dos Santos is one of the last guardians of the art of traditional watchmaking in Portugal.

Born in 1953, in Vila Real de Santo António, he chose Loulé to live and work, where today he is part of the network of Loulé Criativo workshops, in Rua do Bocage, in the heart of the historic center.

He learned the trade from his father, out of necessity, but watchmaking quickly became his passion and life path. For decades, he has repaired highly prestigious pieces from brands such as Cartier, Omega, Rolex, Patek Philippe or Tissot, preserving the value of objects designed to last.

His workshop is today a space of memory and future: where the mechanisms of pocket watches can still be heard, where classic and contemporary models coexist, and where each repair is done with the same dedication as always, in the name of quality and durability.
