Of German origin and resident in the interior of the municipality of Loulé, Heinz-Jürgen Cramer combines his training in Mechanical Engineering with a passion for manual work and machinery. The lathe has always been part of his creative universe — a space where technique and precision meet with the pleasure of building and inventing.
About twenty years ago he decided to swap Germany for Portugal, where he settled and created a business in the area of renewable energies. The taste for metal, however, never left him. The taste for metal, however, never left him.
In 2016, he had the opportunity to attend the Artisanal Boilermaker course promoted by the Municipality of Loulé, at the Boilermakers Workshop, under the guidance of master Analide Carmo. There he discovered a new form of expression through copper and brass, learning the traditional techniques and methods of this ancient art.
Today, as an artisan at Loulé Criativo, Jürgen Cramer is dedicated to the creation of pieces that unite ancient knowledge with contemporary design. From her hands are born bowls, candlesticks, centerpieces, decorative flowers and pieces of jewelry — bracelets and rings — all marked by a balance between technical rigor and aesthetic sensitivity.
“Metal allows you to transform the idea into form. It’s a constant challenge — between the control of technology and the freedom of creation.”
— Jürgen Cramer
