Marisa Murtinha

Marisa Murtinha (1997), born in Loulé, is a visual artist focused on figurative oil painting and professional tile painting. In 2026, she returned to her homeland to found Atelier Murtinha, where she develops decorative and utilitarian tiles that combine Portuguese tradition with a contemporary approach, in addition to carrying out commissions and workshops. He also explores techniques such as drawing, engraving, screen printing and cyanotype, has participated in group exhibitions since 2021 and is currently a resident artist at the GAMA RAMA studios (Faro).

Marisa Murtinha (1997), born in Loulé, is a visual artist. From an early age he has been interested in drawing and painting, but it is from 2023 that he seeks to learn the techniques of classic oil painting. Since then, he has maintained his artistic practice in figurative painting, giving special focus to the human figure in his compositions. During his time in Porto, he began to paint in tiles professionally and discovered a taste for the craft. At the beginning of 2026, back in his homeland, he created the Atelier Murtinha project, where he dedicates himself to painting tiles for sale, preparing works on demand and conducting workshops. Her work focuses on the creation of decorative and utilitarian pieces informed by the colors and imaging of Portuguese tiles, incorporating a personal and contemporary imprint. Additionally, he explores other techniques, including drawing, engraving, screen printing and cyanotype. She has participated, with her works, in several group exhibitions since 2021. He has been an artist-in-residence at the GAMA RAMA studios (Faro) since January 2026, from which he develops his artistic practice professionally
