Born in Boliqueime, Valentina Silva learned the art of empreita and palm knitting by observing the work of the women in her family, who inspired her from an early age. Although she felt sorry for not having been able to study more, life took her down other paths. After the age of 50, he completed the 9th year of schooling and is proud to master social networks, proving that learning has no age.
Entrepreneurship is now his daily addiction. When he works with palm, he forgets everything else — it is his refuge, his space of tranquility and creation. He prefers to use the palm raw, without treatment, and still likes to go to the bush to pick it, keeping the connection to nature and the origins of this craft alive.
It is also Valentina who dyes her own palm, obtaining color variations from the primary colors. She likes to play with patterns and color bars, creating unique combinations full of personality. His undertaking stands out for its small size and the precision of the finishes, a reflection of the dedication and care he puts into each piece.
Valentina takes great pleasure in teaching and sharing what she knows, firmly believing in the future of the Algarve enterprise and in the importance of transmitting this art to new generations.
