Applications
Design Lab aims to support ideas and businesses in the creative sectors—those linked to local culture or that contribute to the development of the region and the community—by providing resources, mentorship, and an inspiring environment for their growth. It has an extensive network of partnerships with leading institutions and initiatives, and offers several workspaces, a fully equipped workshop, a photography studio, meeting rooms, an exhibition gallery, and a retail space.
A dedicated team offers training, promotion, mentoring, and support for the development of projects and businesses.
How does it Work?
Applications for Design Lab residents are always open. The jury, comprised of representatives from the Loulé City Council and invited designers and partners, meets each time a group of candidate projects gathers to review and select new members of this creative community. Only applications submitted via the online form will be accepted.

Incubation Vs Creative Time Bank
There is no cost to stay in the Design Lab as an incubator or a one-time user. However, a time contribution to the Creative Time Bank is mandatory, which can be used to develop joint projects of interest to the project.
INCUBATED – fixed desk
10 hours of monthly compensation for the creative time bank for each fixed activity location (5 hours for second location and beyond).
INCUBATED — shared desk
5 hours of monthly creative time bank compensation for each shared activity location. (2.5 hours for second location and beyond)
VIRTUALLY INCUBATED – No attributed activity location
2 hours of monthly compensation for the creative time bank. (1 hour for the second team member and beyond)
PUNCTUAL USERS
1 hour of compensation to the creative time bank for each half-day use of a workshop, meeting room, or photography studio (minimum value 1 hour). In cases of short-term use where collaborative exchange is not possible, a cost will be charged for each hour of use. Consumables are not included.
The hours in the creative time bank can be used in a variety of ways, always by mutual agreement: participation in LAB events; public presentations of projects; support in the LAB’s operation and the activities it promotes; creation of workshops for the community; or others.
