Paper Camp Portugal is a self-residency program offering artists and creatives an opportunity to immerse themselves in an intensive exploration of paper as material, concept, and tool.
Hosted by Paper Lab Berlin, this experience takes place at Loulé Criativo, a center dedicated to artistic innovation and the revival of craft traditions, set in the heart of the Algarve.
Program
This Paper Camp is about artistic labor, material research, and creative exchange. Over the course of one week, participants will:
Investigate self-topography through paper, using layering, casting, and manipulation to develop new artistic directions.
Challenge their creative processes through hands-on work and material experimentation.
Engage with the landscape and heritage of Loulé, drawing inspiration from its rich craft traditions and artistic community.
Work in an intensive, collaborative setting, sharing knowledge and evolving alongside a group of like-minded artists.
Expand their artistic language through structured and open-ended processes, shaping a personal yet interconnected creative experience.
This Paper Camp invites you to embrace the challenges of material transformation, pushing the boundaries of paper while reflecting on its conceptual depth. While the focus is on individual exploration, the shared space fosters a supportive and dynamic environment, where artistic processes influence and inspire one another.
