Weaving a Coin Purse with Esparto Grass
Description
Esparto is a herbaceous plant from the Gramineae family that grows spontaneously in the Algarve in the Barrocal area.
It was used ancestrally to produce objects used for working in rural areas. Nowadays it is used in handicrafts in a variety of objects such as bases, ropes, baskets, espadrilles, wall clocks and decorative items. During the activity, participants will have direct contact with the tradition of esparto work and will make a coin purse.

Welcoming the participants and introducing the activity:
- Preparing the esparto;
- The braiding technique;
- Techniques for making the piece (coin purse).
