Weaving a Coin Purse with Esparto Grass

Description

Esparto is a herbaceous plant from the Gramineae family that grows spontaneously in the Algarve in the Barrocal area.

It was used ancestrally to produce objects used for working in rural areas. Nowadays it is used in handicrafts in a variety of objects such as bases, ropes, baskets, espadrilles, wall clocks and decorative items.
