Crafting with AI

The Loulé Criativo project invites artisans, makers, and creators to join the creative residency concept by André Matos—Crafting with AI—a unique experience focused on experimentation, reflection, and the development of new projects, where generative AI tools intersect with traditional craftsmanship and artisanal processes.

Over the course of 11 intensive days, participants will be challenged to explore new ways of creating, thinking, and bringing ideas to life, using AI not as a substitute for human creativity, but as an extension of their creative abilities. The residency offers a space for discovery, where tradition and innovation come together to generate new languages, objects, and possibilities.

Led by two designers, the residency combines sessions on conceptual frameworks, hands-on training in AI tools, the development of individual proposals, prototyping, and material experimentation, culminating in a public presentation of the projects created.

Selected participants will have access to specialized mentoring, a one-month professional license for the RunwayML platform, workspace and exhibition opportunities, as well as accommodation at the Gama Lobo Palace for those who need it.
